  1. Can you please share your journey? How long have you been with ASU and what inspired you to get started there?

I will soon celebrate my 39th year serving Arizona State University. I was first inspired to work at ASU because of our ability to offer unlimited opportunities for individuals to achieve and excel – to improve their lives. And now in its 10th year, the ASU charter outlines ASU’s commitment to the inclusion and success of our students and our communities. I am blessed to work for an organization where my beliefs and daily work align with the University’s highest priorities.

  1. Why did you join the Peoria Chamber of Commerce?

The reason that ASU joined the Peoria Chamber of Commerce is to connect directly with the local business community. Benefits for this mutual partnership include being able to better align our courses and degrees with workforce needs, promote internship opportunities and work with the business community to advocate for policies that support both business and education.

  1. How did you get involved with the Peoria Chamber of Commerce?

After being a member of the Chamber for many years, I was recruited to serve on the board of directors. After serving in several roles on the board – and committee involvement – I remain an active member of the Chamber.

  1. How has the Chamber helped you network with other local business owners or potential clients?

The Chamber serves as an ideal avenue to spark innovative partnerships and successful networking between business and community leaders. It is an entity that supports its community and that is a shared mission of the University.

  1. What kind of resources has the Chamber provided that have benefited ASU?

Chamber resources that benefit ASU include access to a large network, community engagement, advocacy conversations, professional development and a platform for ASU experts to engage.

  1. What do you think other business owners should know about the Chamber, especially if they are considering joining?

Business owners should know that the Chamber is a great place to engage with people committed to the success and prosperity of the community. It is the place to share resources as well as gain knowledge and connections too. Again, in alignment with ASU’s charter, the Chamber works to improve the community’s economy and quality of life and you will want to be included!
