WeRide Microtransit

On January 6, 2025, Peoria joined Avondale and Goodyear in adopting WeRIDE, a microtransit initiative operated by Transdev. Designed to serve a 10-square-mile zone, WeRIDE offers demand-response transit in areas where regular bus routes are sparse or inefficient. Riders pay $2 for standard one-way fares, with reduced fares ($1) for veterans, students, people with disabilities, and seniors.
For many residents, the distance to fixed bus stops, shopping, medical, or recreational centers is a major barrier to mobility. WeRIDE’s virtual “stops” — fixed points often within walking distance of homes or community hubs — help overcome this obstacle. Those in need can request a ride between 7AM-7PM weekdays in Peoria and feel comfort in knowing the driver has been highly vetted and trained, unlike other ride services. Vehicles are also ADA-friendly and seat 4-8 passengers with bike racks available on all vehicles.
