Charity golf tournament huge success, benefits West Valley Child Crisis Center
Peoria, AZ — The 6th Annual Peoria Chamber of Commerce golf classic and ball drop held September 26 at Palmbrook Country Club was a tremendous success, in spite of the warmer than average weather, thanks to the golfers, volunteers, sponsors and the West Valley Child Crisis Center! The Chamber was proud to present $3000 to the 2014 Charity recipient, West Valley Child Crisis Center.
The participation of 128 golfers, along with gifts, donations and sponsorships and the hard work and dedication of 24 volunteers made the tournament an event to remember, and golfing at Palmbrook Country Club was an added bonus. “We are so fortunate to have members of the chamber willing to donate their time, service, energy and products” said Gail Curran, Special Events Manager of the Peoria Chamber of Commerce. “Special thanks to Texas Roadhouse, Lacy & Wendy’s Catering, Culver’s of Peoria and Dutch Bros. for donating food and beverages” Ms. Curran added.
The day started with Mayor Bob Barrett and Executive Director of the West Valley Child Crisis Center, Kary Goitia dumping 1500 numbered golf balls onto the greens. Dave Evans of It’s All in the Game, Amy Graham of Credit Union West and golfer Bartt Underwood, each took home $516.
“We are so appreciative of the support the event has given to the vulnerable children in Arizona,” said Mark Mauer, board chair of the Peoria Chamber of Commerce. The funds raised will help West Valley Child Crisis Center continue their current programs to help children in need.”
The Playing ‘FORE’ the Committee thanks their golfers, sponsors and all those that donated and participated to this event. The committee, headed by Mark Mauer and Guy Erickson, sends a special thank you to the volunteers who worked tirelessly on this event.
