This workshop will outline some of the most common issues facing many business owners and time will be allowed for those in attendance to discuss similar issues as it relates to their business. Issues affecting all businesses of all sizes include cash flow variances, real estate, space lease considerations, insurance impacts, deal structures, existing and contemplated contractual relationships, business development, associations, risk evaluation and tolerance, workout scenarios, and business model impacts. Understanding how each of these issues impacts your business is critical during times of uncertainty. If truly understood, it is much easier to make proactive decisions for your business now and well into the future. Welty, PLLC A Business and Entrepreneurial Law Firm John's career consists of advising clients on a wide range of business-related matters. John has advised businesses of all types and sizes, but he has always focused on the entrepreneurial aspects of such businesses. John has a unique background and education in business and combines this experience with the practice of law. John currently practices in the areas of business/corporate law, finance, real estate, contract law, Native American law/Indian law, general taxation, and estate planning. John also provides general counsel services to his clients. Prior to opening this law firm, John primarily served as Counsel and as Secretary for the Phoenix Cement Company / Salt River Sand & Rock Company (dba Salt River Materials Group). John also practiced in-house for other business entities of the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community where he advised boards of directors; advised on all legal and business matters; negotiated contracts, business deals, leases, financing, real estate matters; and provided legal strategic analysis. These business entities included a development company and asset management company (Salt River Community Property Development and Asset Management Company dba Devco); a telephone and communications company (Saddleback Communications Company); and handled transactional work for a landfill, world-class Troon golf course, and Casino Arizona. Although these businesses utilized federal and state law at both national, regional, and local levels, John became an expert at alternative dispute resolution (ADR) and the interplay with Native American / Indian law. John's broad interests give him the right expertise to heavily minimize legal exposure and risks while providing the negotiating power and strategy for all situations that should arise.
