The Peoria Chamber’s Board of Director’s are elected by the Peoria Chamber’s general membership to direct the affairs of the Chamber. The Board of Directors consists of eleven elected directors and up to six appointed members. The Board of Director’s are elected to three year terms which are staggered each year. The Board of Director’s then elect the Executive Board Officers of President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer for that year and elect any Appointed Board of Director positions.
The Board of Directors establishes the goals, policies and objectives for the year and work with the members and staff to accomplish that mission. This also includes developing a long-range plan for the Chamber, approving the budget, overseeing the chamber’s committees and working with the Executive Director who manages the day-to-day operations of the Chamber. The Chamber’s mission is: To promote, develop and maintain a positive economic environment for business in the community.
The Board of Director’s would like input from the chamber membership, as they are here to work for you, as your elected officers. Let them know what will benefit your particular business, what programs you would like to see, the means of communication that work for your business and any and all suggestions you may have. Remember, the Chamber is Your Voice for Business and your input is extremely valuable.
Each month, a week before the scheduled open Board Meetings, the Board agenda will be posted on the website under Board of Directors. You can look at it and see if there is an item of interest to you. If so, contact a Board member and give them your input on the agenda item to be discussed. The Board of Directors are: President Scott Clark (Ascend HR Solutions), Vice-President Matt Woosley (Woosley State Farm Insurance Agency), Secretary Jim Dorr (Jimmij Graphic Design), Treasurer Gina Kowacz (Hawkeye's Heart), Carlye Bartel (Cox Business), Jeanne Blackman (Arizona Public Service Company), Debbie Flores (Banner Boswell Medical Center), Mike Heath (Salt River Project), Michelle Laurienti (BBB Systems), Steve Shmatko (Edward Jones), Chuck Strange (Max Save Card), George Thorne (Jobing.com), Debbie Utz (M&I Bank), and Charlene Young (Arizona Broadway Theatre). Their contact information is listed on the website under Board of Directors at www.peoriachamber.com.
When you see a Board Director, please thank them for volunteering their time to work for your business. They are working hard to ensure the Peoria Chamber is the best professional organization in the Valley to represent and grow your business!
