Leaders from the West Valley Resort will be speaking at the next Peoria Chamber luncheon at Arizona Broadway Theatre on Tuesday, December 6 from 11AM to 1PM.

The Peoria Chamber believes that understanding the opportunities of the proposed West Valley Resort are best explained by Tohono O'odham Nation leaders in a public setting.

The proposed resort will provide 6000 jobs during the construction phase and retain 3000 jobs on a long-term basis. Beyond stable jobs, the Resort will generate over $100 million in additional tax revenue during the construction phase and $45 million annually once operational, benefiting surrounding governments including Peoria, Glendale, Avondale, Tolleson, Litchfield Park, Surprise and other West Valley cities. It is estimated that the West Valley Resort will also provide more than $300 million in new economic impacts each year-keeping dollars local and investing in the est Valley.

This unique endeavor will be located on property adjacent to Northern Avenue and 95th Avenue, and is in line with guidelines set out in the corresponding federal law. It will be a full-scale, first-class resort and casino that includes amenities such as a spa, convention and meeting rooms, an event center, retail space, restaurants and bars.

The Tohono O'odham Nation is directly investing in local non-profits and governments and is very committed to positively impacting communities through public safety, education, health care and other important focus areas-especially in the West Valley, where over the past few years it has donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to local governments and nonprofits.

The presentation at the Chamber luncheon will focus on answering many community questions that have been raised during the last few months and help everyone understand the Nation's commitment to local development of the West Valley.

The luncheon is open to the public and seating is limited. Please register at  http://www.peoriachamber.com/content/p/81/eid/685-1323194400 by Friday, December 2, 2011 on a first-come-first-served basis. The greater Peoria community is encouraged to attend.

The Peoria Chamber, founded in 1919, is an advocate for business, encouraging the entrepreneurial spirit while proudly displaying our patriotism and promoting our diverse community with honor and integrity.
