Peoria, AZ – The Peoria Chamber is kicking-off the new year by hosting Mayor Bob Barrett’s annual State of the City Address.
Mayor Barrett in his casual yet thought provoking style is expected to talk about housing trends, community improvement investments, economic development, revenue figures and several other important topics impacting the 2012 year.
Bob Barrett was first elected to the City Council representing the Ironwood District in 2001 and was reelected to a second term in 2004. A resident of Peoria since 1993, he resigned from the Council during his 2005 - 2006 term to run for Mayor. Barrett has served as Mayor of Peoria since 2006.
Sponsored by APS, the January monthly Chamber luncheon is an opportunity for community members to network and get involved in local events. December’s luncheon featured supporters of the Tohono O’odham Nation regarding the West Valley Resort development. February will spotlight a new signature event, Dinner on the Diamond, through a partnership between the Chamber, the Peoria Diamond Club and the Peoria Sports Complex.
Residents and Chamber members are invited to attend at the Arizona Broadway Theater on Tuesday, January 10. Tickets are on sale on the Chamber’s website located at www.peoriachamber.com.
The Peoria Chamber of Commerce is an advocate for business, encouraging the entrepreneurial spirit while proudly displaying our patriotism and promoting our diverse community with honor and integrity.
